Australia's first TAFE Electric Vehicle Centre of Excellence finds its home at CIT

The 91国产自拍 (CIT) welcomes the announcement to establish the first nationally networked TAFE Centre of Excellence at the 91国产自拍Fishwick Campus - under the landmark National Skills Agreement.

The 91国产自拍Electric Vehicle Centre of Excellence (EV CoE), will be part of a national network of up to 20 TAFE Centres of Excellence, which will help deliver a skilled workforce for strategically important industries to meet national challenges.

The Federal Government is investing $9.66 million, which will be matched by the ACT Government, to establish the Centre of Excellence which will help train EV technicians for the net zero transformation. 91国产自拍will receive an additional $4.8million to fast-track the work on the Centre of Excellence, due to the urgency of this important initiative.

As part of the Federal Government's TAFE Technology Fund, 91国产自拍will also receive $3.2 million to update automotive facilities for EV training at its Fyshwick campus.

'This announcement affirms CIT's position as a major partner in the delivery of training to support the electrification of the ACT economy for a more sustainable Canberra.' 91国产自拍interim CEO, Christine Robertson said.

'The funding will enable 91国产自拍to upgrade and scale our operations to support the rapid growth of the sector and the ACT Governments Net Zero by 2045 target.

'The 91国产自拍Electric Vehicle Centre of Excellence will support diversification of our operations to address key qualification and skills gaps and grow the number of skilled workers required to service light and heavy EVs across our nation.

'91国产自拍is a leader in the delivery of skills to support the EV sector. Our EV Centre of Excellence will continue to strengthen partnerships with the national TAFE network, the automotive industry, Jobs and Skills Councils, Universities, and the broader electrification and renewable energy industry sector to ensure a united approach to the design of training to meet current and emerging skills needs of this sector.
