General Construction Induction (White Card Training)

White Card

All persons require a General Construction Induction Card (White Card) when working on a construction site.

General Construction Induction Training is a nationally accredited competency unit known as Prepare to work safely in the construction industry CPCWHS1001.

*A rebate may be available to eligible people employed in the ACT construction industry through the ACT Building and Construction Industry Training Fund. See more information below.

  • Training Fund Authority funding
    • *If you're employed in the ACT construction industry, you may be eligible for funding from the ACT Building and Construction Industry Training Fund Authority (TFA). The rebate is not available after the course has been completed. See more information below.
    • You're eligible for TFA funding if you:
      - work for a company or organisation that is substantially (at least 80%) engaged in carrying out work described in the Schedule of Work in the Act, within the ACT, and
      - undertake training that meets all the requirements outlined in approved RTOs/courses.
    • We and TFA take fraudulent declarations very seriously. If you have any questions about your eligibility, please contact TFA directly on (02) 6262 5630.
      ***If you believe you are eligible for the TFA rebate, you will need to contact 91国产自拍before enrolling as we will apply the rebate before enrolment, the rebate is not available after the course has been completed.

Payment

Invoice due date is on enrolment date.

Payment for the White Card course can be made in person at 91国产自拍Student Services at 91国产自拍Reid, 91国产自拍Bruce, 91国产自拍Fyshwick, 91国产自拍Gungahlin and 91国产自拍Tuggeranong.

Please note: EFTPOS payment is no longer available. Staff can assist students to pay with debit/credit cards via 91国产自拍Self Service. For more information on all payment options visit ‘How to Pay’.

Identification

On the day of the course, you will need to show 100 points of ID. These include:

  1. *MANDATORY* One of the following: Birth Certificate, Passport, Citizenship Certificate
  2. One photo ID, for example: Australian Driver Licence, Proof of Identity card, WWVP card

About the course

There are no prerequisites for this course.

CIT's White Card course is delivered face-to-face at 91国产自拍Bruce.

You are required to complete the 7 hour (1 day) course led by teacher/assessor.

The course is held on Tuesdays and Thursdays each week.

To complete the course, you will also need to have the following Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):

  • hard hat,
  • high vis vest,
  • ear protection, and
  • eye protection.

If you do not have this equipment, you can purchase the PPE via the or any hardware store.

Persons that satisfactorily complete the course will be eligible to apply for their White Card (National Construction Induction Card) through Access Canberra.
