91国产自拍students ready for National WorldSkills Competition

Twelve 91国产自拍 (CIT) students have been selected to compete at the competition in Melbourne following their success in the regional rounds.

WorldSkills competitions, also described as the "vocational skills Olympics" showcases vocational education and training achievements where students complete a number of mini projects which are then judged by industry experts and trainers.

In the regional competition 91国产自拍students showed off their skills in landscape construction, electrical control systems, refrigeration, plumbing, plastering, cabinet making, painting, joinery, floor and wall tiling, carpentry, commercial cookery, and retail baking.

91国产自拍 Interim CEO Christine Robertson, said the Institute was extremely proud of all the students who took part in the in the regional competitions.

'Nearly 100 91国产自拍students competed at the ACT regional round of the WorldSkills competitions, with 36 students winning medals for their efforts,' Ms Robertson said.

As part of the competition, refrigeration apprentice Floyd Lucas-Baxter needed to find an electrical fault on a refrigeration unit, solve a refrigeration fault on a cool room unit, and make a small can cooler that cools a can of drink in under 5 seconds.

'I competed because it is a great way to practise for my final exam and it's a great way to get better at what you do,' Floyd said.

ACT Gold medal winner for Bakery, Caci Mitchell chose to enter the WorldSkills competition to improve her baking skills and get feedback from the judges.

'The judges were so helpful with their advice, and I find myself using it every day at work so I can produce higher quality baking products,' Caci said.
