It has been a big year for CIT's Centre for Cyber Security and Games. Two teams of Cyber Security Certificate IV (C4-BD30) students placed first and second at the WorldSkills Australia Cyber Security Regional Competition and 53 91国产自拍students and apprentices this year graduated from the Australian Government Digital Emerging Talent Program.

Four 91国产自拍cyber security students participated in the WorldSkills Australia Cyber Security Regional Competition, which included 18 teams from all eight states and territories. Our students, Kavitha Kamath, Luke Williams, Scott Paterson and Javier Sallato, were split into two teams, one defending and one attacking.

Scott Paterson, who was a defender for one of the teams, said it was a great experience. "We got to use simulated live data as part of the competition. It was a real challenge and I was surprised at how well we did. It really shows how well 91国产自拍trained us."

Dr Abu Barkat Head of Department, 91国产自拍Centre for Cyber Security and Games said the two 91国产自拍teams were clear winners on the day and that teams and their teachers could be very proud of their performance, with both working tirelessly to prepare for the competition.

It is not just the competition winners who should be proud of their achievements this year. As part of the Australian Government Digital Emerging Talent Program, a graduation ceremony recently celebrated the hard work of students who completed either the Digital Apprenticeship Program or the Graduate Program.

The program is a partnership between the Digital Transformation Agency and CIT. In the past 12 years, the program has seen 594 apprentices complete their programs of study from Certificate III to Diploma level, ranging from cyber security, to Information Technology, Programming, IT Testing, System analysis, and Software development

The Graduate Program is an opportunity for university graduates to excel in a digital or technical career and further develop their skills in networking and cyber security.

Dr Abu Barkat said, "Never has the world needed graduates more in this field and we are so pleased to have been part of these students' learning journey. I encourage all of our graduates to reflect on what they learned in their chosen field but also how they have grown personally during their time with the program and at CIT."
